Wound Care Lecture Planned Nov. 8
The basics of wound care will be discussed during a lecture Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center.
Angela Johnson, a family nurse practitioner with the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine at Takoma Regional Hospital, will be guest speaker for a lecture called “To Dress Or Not To Dress: The Basics Of Wound Care.”
The lecture, which will be held from 10-11 a.m., is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
Johnson graduated from East Tennessee State University, where she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She also graduated from Emory University, where she received a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence certification.
“Many people are unsure how to clean and dress a wound,” Johnson said. “I will talk about what to do and not to do, as well as products you should and shouldn’t use.”
