GREENEVILLE, TN – Takoma Adventist Hospital’s Center for Rehabilitation has expanded its services to include lymphatic drainage.
Diane Coffey, director of the Center of Rehabilitation for Outpatient Physical Therapy, is now offering lymph drainage therapy for patients with Lymphedema. Coffey, who recently earned certification in lymph drainage therapy from the Upledger Institute, a International Alliance of Healthcare Educators, said this technique is a well-documented method of stimulating the lymph system to activate fluid circulation, detoxify, rejuvenate and strengthen the body’s natural defenses.
The Lymph Drainage Therapy workshop was developed by French physician Bruno Chikly, M.D., who has taught the technique internationally. The therapy has been successfully used to alleviate conditions such as swelling (edemas, lymphedemas) of many origins and chronic pain, as well as to detoxcity and regenerate body tissues.
Takoma Hospital is the only local medical facility offering lymphatic drainage, she noted.
