Robert Martin Named Takoma’s Director Of Foods, Nutrition
GREENEVILLE, TN – Robert Martin has been named the new director of foods and nutrition at Takoma Adventist Hospital.

   “I look forward to helping Takoma provide the very best in food and service to our patients, our staff and our visitors,” Martin said.

   Food plays an important role in the patient’s recovery, he noted. “Food is very important to the healing process,” Martin explained. “And, our dietitians work closely with our patients so the healing process doesn’t end when they go home.”

   Martin received his certification for certified dietary manager from the University of Florida, and attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. He also attended East Tennessee State University, the University of Tennessee and Chattanooga State Community College.

   He is a member of the Dietary Managers Association.

   Martin began his career at Northside Hospital in Johnson City. He also worked at Shannondale Retirement Community in Knoxville, Alexian Village Retirement Community in Signal Mountain and Asbury at Baysmont in Kingsport.

   Martin has two children, Ashley and Caroline. When not working, he enjoys outdoor activities including boating, water skiing and tennis, and he is an avid baseball and softball fan.
