GREENEVILLE, TN –Joanie Scott has been named Takoma Adventist Hospital’s new clinical dietitian.
Scott began working at Takoma in June. She creates diets for those patients with special nutritional needs.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Murray State University in Murray, Ky., and a master’s degree in medical science from Emory University School of Medicine.
Scott has traveled with the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Program as a dietitian consultant-at-large to promote better nutrition. She also worked as chief clinical dietitian at Laughlin Memorial Hospital, and was a dietitian consultant with Holston United Methodist Home for Children.
Scott has worked in various physician offices in Greeneville and provided nutritional information and diet instructions to the YMCA. She also has taught nutrition classes at Tusculum College.
She is married to Dr. Joseph Scott, an internist with Greeneville Internal Medicine. They have three children, Thomas, Marie and Melissa. The Scotts attend Towering Oaks Baptist Church, where Joanie Scott teaches Sunday school and Bible study.
