GREENEVILLE, TN. – Takoma Regional Hospital has received accreditation for ultrasound after a survey confirmed the hospital met high practice standards established by the American College of Radiology.
“I am pleased to thank Garth Eddy, Susan Davis and especially Anita Garretson for their hard work on becoming ACR accredited,” Sean Light, director of imaging services at Takoma Regional Hospital, said. “Their hard work and dedication to quality shows the community that we are passionate about doing great work.”
Takoma already is accredited in nuclear medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), mammography and Computed Tomography (CT). “This most recent accreditation is the last one we were waiting on,” Light said. “We are now accredited in all areas of radiology.”
The American College of Radiology, headquartered in Reston, Va., awards accreditation to facilities based on a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. ACR surveyors assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment in determining whether a facility meets accreditation standards.
