National Thought Leader Offering Free Lecture Oct. 11 At Takoma
National author and thought leader Karen Martin will offer a free one-hour “Excellence In Business” seminar on Thursday, Oct. 11, at Takoma Regional Hospital.
Martin, author of “The Outstanding Organization,” will discuss “How Organizational Chaos Destroys Improvement Initiatives – And What To Do To Prevent It.” More than 80 percent of improvement efforts fail to make a discernible difference because of internal organizational chaos, she said.
“I’m excited about the plans Takoma has to utilize Karen’s energy and expertise in organizational improvement to help us reach our vision of becoming a world-class healthcare organization,” Daniel Wolcott, the hospital’s president and CEO, said.
Martin is conducting seminars for hospital leaders next week during their annual retreat.
“We wanted the community businesses to be able to benefit from the principles that we will be learning,” Wolcott said. “She is an invaluable source of information for improving business performance.”
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in the hospital’s Everett and Carolyn Coolidge Volunteer Conference Center.
