Carb Counting Lecture Set For Oct. 4
Carbohydrate counting can be tricky work for diabetics. Lori Church, a registered nurse and certified diabetic educator, will explain how to manage “carbs” at the Oct. 4 diabetic support group meeting at Takoma Regional Hospital.
Church, who is also an Animas pump representative, will speak from 6-7 p.m. in the Everett and Carolyn Coolidge Volunteer Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
“Carbohydrate counting can be extremely beneficial to diabetes in helping stabilize blood glucoses,” Louisa Hammer, Takoma’s certified diabetic educator and host of the event, said.
