'How To Maintain Your Good Health' Lecture Set For Sept. 2
Dr. Candi Overholt, a board-certified internal medicine physician with Takoma Medical Associates, will discuss “How To Maintain Your Good Health” during a lecture Thursday, Sept. 2.
The event, which is sponsored by Takoma Regional Hospital, will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the Roby Fitzgerald Senior Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
“Takoma’s mission is to nurture the health of our community,” Dr. Overholt said. “Maintaining good health is key to a long, productive life. There are definitely things we can do to keep our good health.”
The lecture will focus on preventative medicine, including the importance of a healthy weight and regular exercise.
Dr. Overholt grew up in Parrottsville and realized during high school that she wanted to become a primary care physician. She received her medical school degree from the University of Tennessee and completed her residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest Baptist University in Winston Salem, N.C.
She is a member of the American College of Physicians, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
