Takoma Regional has a rich history dating back to 1928 when the facility was opened as a sanitarium by Dr. Leroy Coolidge. Today this 100-bed, acute-care facility is staffed by over 120 board-certified or board-eligible physicians and nearly 500 compassionate nurses, technicians and support staff members. Takoma's Wound Healing Center, inpatient rehabilitation unit and geriatric behavioral health unit are just a few of the hospital's unique specialties. The hospital offers a wide-array of surgical specialties and has a advanced imaging and diagnostic center.
