GREENEVILLE – How do you cope with aggressive drivers, anti-lock brakes and car phones? A two-day course sponsored annually by the Takoma Regional Hospital Volunteers – newly updated and revised this year – teaches defensive-driving techniques.
Because they recognize the effectiveness of the course, auto insurance companies offer discounts to AARP graduates. Best of all, you don’t have to take a test – but you do have to attend both days of the class.
The course is offered Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 11-12, in the Everett and Carolyn Coolidge Volunteer Conference Center at the intersection of Coolidge Street and Takoma Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days. Lunch will be provided by Takoma Regional Hospital.
Please note there is a new fee structure. AARP members who produce membership cards on Tuesday, Feb. 11, can take the class for $12. (If you have lost your card, you can obtain your membership number by calling 1-800-687-2277.) If no membership number is provided, the cost of the course is $14. Checks should be made payable to AARP.
